Issue #62, Part 2 - March 19, 2006

Sal Cirrincione (Premier Radio Networks) went to see Willie Nile (Andy York on guitar). Suggests a bill with Willie and me. I like Willie - he's a true spirit. We'll see.

Ben Milns: A guitar tab section on the web site? I'll have a chat to Andy York. I don't know what most of them are. I just plonk my fingers down and hope for the best.

Peter Jordon: Some excellent album titles. Sadly the deed is done.

Willie: When? Oh, here it is. Where are you staying? I can't guarantee anything but you never know (an overseas trip is tentative at that time, but may fall through).

Jim McConnell: Neil Diamond's album great because it's stripped down. Not the first time I've heard this. Well, my new one is not stripped down, but it is only five or six guys playing with a few overdubs so it's not exactly orchestral. About what I normally do. If I ever get some stripped down songs together, I'll do a stripped down album - it's cheaper! I'm a fan of Rick Rubin. He, however, is not inexpensive!

Graham Diss: Pitch it.

Spongebox's daughter gave birth to a body boy IAN HUNTER RONSON WILLIAMS! Sounds like a band already. Congratulations!

Jeffrey went for a dip in the pool. Nutter.

Daniel Hofferty: That's lovely to know Daniel. Thanks for the support.

Susan (Au2): Fingers crossed.

Doug Moss: All new songs.

Andre' Pisani: Play Bergen! Love to!

Rich V: Pragmatism. It's something you have to do (flying) so you do it. Get a good book and take a downer. Flying is like driving these days. Ignore it, it's one of life's inevitables.

Ben Kienzler: November at the moment.

Colin Donegal: Hey - I'm asked questions - I answer them to the best on my ability. A lot of people get the wrong end of the stick - it's part of watching rather than being inside. Some stuff I can't or won't talk about. Doesn't bother me either way; it's water under the bridge. Some of your thinking is correct, but some of it isn't. Leave it at that.

David Fowler: Thank you, David.

Steve Parsons: 'Downtown' was my fault.

Ed: Ronno teamed up with 'Rolling Thunder' to spite me. Come on! Apart from anything else, he was ringing me asking me to come down to the rehearsals. Did we bitch at each other from time to time? Of course. He's a guitar player and I'm a front man. Where do these ideas come from? It's just daft.

Mr. Beer N. Hockey: Come to Vancouver. I've been - it's great but a bit of a schlep.

Julian Marshall: Ronno and me were working in the Power Station in New York and I'd written 'Theatre of the Absurd' a reggae type tune which neither of us knew much about - so we got Mick involved. He would up staying for the whole album and Topper Headon wound up doing all the drums.

Mikey and ArrogantU2Fan: Still blossoming!

Mike Pecucci: Have I still got the suit from 'All of the Good Ones' video? I don't know; I think so. Armani - white linen. Good stuff.

Gerry Zehr asked 'Secret Records' for my DVD and got Human League instead. Actually, this is the first complaint. Could be one off, bad luck - send it back.

Robert Burns: Are we doing Leeds? I think so; we usually do.

Pat: 'Once Bitten,' 'Guiding Light,' (on the new album) 'Roll Away the Stone,' 'Rain,' - quite a few, actually.

Hal Freiman: Never had one and never will so sadly Nancy and I will never meet! Imagine having that done with my own music playing - ghastly! My love to St. Vincents. Thanks for the info.

Mike Considine: Steve Holley got me involved in a charity gig at the Bowery Ballroom and I met him there. It took a year for us to get moving as J.M. was busy at that time. Right now, he works with both of us. If John's out, I'll use either MC Bosch or Jack the Mechanic - both of whom are fab in their own ways. Used all of them on the record.

Willie: You've got to get with it Willie!

Bob O'C: Saw me get up at the Fab Faux gig recently. Actually, Andy and I were working, but Pete Moshey (the engineer) was ill so we wandered down to see the chaps. Was I a Beatle fan? I as a Stones fan first, but I loved all the Beatle singles. They were all so different - but all great.

Jason Rubin: 'I think it's funny how people write and tell you what and where to play. My attitude is - he's effin Ian Hunter. If he sells it I'll buy it and if he plays my town - I'll go see him. Otherwise I wish him the best. By the way, it's magnificent you and Trudi have been together so long - considering the length of R+R marriages.'

Barry Wilkinson: It's a bootleg of a show I did.

Dave Thompson: 'Just bought 'Just Another Night' DVD and the two MTH CD reissues. Great stuff!'

Steve Jeal: I get a lot of requests for sheet music, but alas I'm not aware of any. Both Andy and MC Bosch are on the new album as are Jack the Mechanic and James Mastro. All are different and have parts to play - refined is not a word I'm particularly fond of. Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Welcome aboard.

Dave Griffiths: So Tony! Get it together. Spring is in the air! I'm here!

Dave/Albany: Has the death of Ronno affected you in the music you write today? You bet it has. If you have a gift do not insult it.

Alfie: it's a nice thought but in all the time I've known them (saw a couple of them last week - brilliant) they've never said any like that, so I would say probably not.

Tiar: Toronto? Don't know yet. Mick Ralphs? Don't know yet.

Pete Denham: Northampton, Shrewsbury, Hereford and Hamilton Accies. Kind of a mixed year this year but it's nice to see Northampton vying for promotion and Shrewsbury slowly climbing up the league. Saw the man U v. Newcastle game. You can see they can play. Be nice when Owen gets back.

Ricky: Good to hear from you! Love to all. AB will fill you in. Regards to the band.

Joe S.: 'Original Mixed Up Kid' actually puts in an appearance but not the song.

Owen: Back's good.

Brad Hardisty: I've no idea. You'd have to ask them. You know Freddie was kinda like that anyway. They were what they were and we were what we were. We got on famously though. Still do.

Willie: All the fans have to buy the CD so it charts immediately. What he said.

Springy: 'You're Never Alone...' by far. Scottish (My Dad was Scottish).

Willie: 'In order to liven up the message board some members have suggested bingo (it's our age). Will you call a number at the end of each Horse's Mouth! 27.

Deb: Yup, I like Denis a lot and my mate, Rick, is working the project. We did some O.D.'s at Rick's.

Wyatt: Thank you!

Audioporn: Best of luck!

Alan Waugh: Well, Michael's in the same place as me at the moment. Until we know exactly who is putting the new record out and when it's difficult to make plans. No point in promoting something before it is available. Watch this site for what we do and when. Thanks for your interest.

Heather (Sandra): No time at the moment but I will. Glad you like the site.

Mark Okino: More than likely, but that was then and this is now.

Manfred: Tour Germany! I will - when somebody offers me some decent dates.

Greg Wheeler: Actually there is a single. The first I've had in a long time.

Ian: 'Has touring changed much since Diary?' Sound is better. Expenses are greater.

Kelly Wallace: Bear with us.

Dan Hartman: Did playing guitar/bass/piano come naturally? How long before you felt comfortable in public? Well, I started at 15 and had a lot of balls. I thought I was great and ready but of course I wasn't. You just have to improve at your own pace and I was pretty slow. I couldn't be called a natural but desire was 200% and that counts for a lot.

Phillip Sanchez: 'Phoenix, Phoenix, Phoenix!' Get the car out boy!

Brian Farrell: Bless you and yours.

Tom: 'Come to Albany. Miss live music like yours.'

Willie: Shut it!

Frank Rodak: I think that's on the Once Bitten album. 'Bluebirds'.

Randall McCaslin: probably a couple of sounds put together - moog and mellotron. We must have glued the names together.

Jeffrey: I think this kids name is Mellencamp, but it's not the Mellencamp so don't go buggin' poor John on this one.

Just left for a meal with Andy York and his lovely wife, Liz. Liz is working for Billy Joel. Played her the new record - everybody loves the one song I hate!

Rick Graves: Yes - that's it!

Jim Cally: Whatever!

Cal: Haven't heard it yet. Watch this space.

Mr. Elhediny would like to sell a collection of adult DVDs???

Jimi Tillman: I don't even remember Tallahassee...but hi!

Randall Mccaslin: 'If they want a stray - they'd better go out and grow one.' What does it mean? I don't know.

Truls Johanson: Is it true Mick Jones wrote some of CP + W? How come he didn't get any credit? He didn't want any.

That's it kids. I'm done for now. Let's see what happens next.

Love,

IH
